The Three Cultures Route

Muslims, Jews and Christians

Chelva, town of the three cultures, is a tour that aims to show the historical richness of this municipality, which preserves intact its medieval urban fabric as well as several architectural and artistic jewels. The “historical interculturality” will be the driving motif of the itinerary, which links with the interculturality of today’s society.

Muslims, Jews, and Christians coexisted in this enclave of the Valencian hinterland, giving rise to a characteristic settlement that has been preserved to the present day. Today it evokes the remote past of these communities that lived together during the 14th century, giving rise to a flourishing culture and laying the foundations for the great economic and social development during the Renaissance and Baroque periods.
