Town Council

The Town Council or Old Town Hall

This building, in Renaissance style, housed Chelva’s first Town Hall. It was built at the end of the 16th century and its façade features a bas-relief with the town’s coat of arms carved in alabaster. It was used as the seat of the Council, where justice was dispensed, the town was governed, and also as a storehouse for the tithes. Today it is private property.
